We’re working with a growing veterinary urgent care hospital in San Antonio, Texas that is seeking an experienced Medical Director (DVM) to lead clinical excellence and guide a high-performing team. The Medical Director will provide hands-on urgent care while establishing clinical protocols, ensuring high standards of patient care, and fostering a collaborative team environment. This leader will partner with operational support teams to drive hospital performance and patient outcomes.
Deliver high-quality urgent care for dogs and cats in a fast-paced setting
Establish and uphold medical standards and best practices
Mentor and support veterinarians and clinical staff
Collaborate with leadership teams across operations, HR, and marketing
Promote a positive, team-oriented culture focused on patient and client care
Advanced diagnostic tools including digital radiography and ultrasound
Hands-free radiology techniques to enhance safety
Emphasis on low-stress and fear-reducing handling methods
Modern, well-equipped facility designed for efficient urgent care delivery
Full-time position
Open 7 days a week, 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Weekend availability required
The hospital focuses exclusively on urgent care cases, including:
Gastrointestinal issues (vomiting, diarrhea)
Ear and skin conditions
Allergic reactions
Eye concerns
Toxin ingestion and other acute presentations
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited institution
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in Texas
Strong leadership and mentorship abilities
Passion for urgent care medicine and patient advocacy
